This series of steps will ensure that your air system is thoroughly and properly cleaned. Not all steps may apply as every air system is unique.

  • The air system will be tested for proper operation.
  • The air handler unit will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • All of the vent registers will be removed and thoroughly cleaned.
  • The entire air duct system will be cleaned and deodorized.
  • The vent registers are re-installed and the system is tested for proper operation.

Indoor Air Quality Specialists

We show you the dirt and debris we get out of your system so you know what you’re paying for.

Our equipment is Powerful and Truck Mounted to provide proper negative suction.

By sealing and covering all vents and applying a powerful vacuum we create negative pressure on the system, we then remove registers/supply vents and intake/return vents one at a time.

This permits the proper agitation of the ducts, which is achieved with specialized air tools that produce up to 200 PSI of air pressure and are designed specifically for cleaning all shapes and sizes of ductwork including internally lined fiberglass ductwork and flexible ducting.

High powered 200 PSI compressor air tools are used to dislodge and push dust and debris into the vacuum. (This is known as the Push and Pull Method).

The National Air Duct Cleaning Association or (NADCA) only recommends cleaning with this method.

Duct Sanitizer

EnviroCON: is a mild bacteriostat and fungistat that we use when the primary objective of the treatment is to remove odors associated with mold, mildew or bacteria. EnviroCON is unscented and is NOT a perfume, cover-up or masking agent.

OXINE: is a true sanitizer and much stronger than EnviroCON. We apply OXINE in the air ducts of our customers when the primary objective is a 100% kill of all mold, mildew and viruses/bacteria that may still persist at a microscopic level even after a thorough duct cleaning has been carried out.

Do you have an “Indoor Air Pollution Problem”?

If you answer “YES” to any of the following questions, your home may suffer from “Indoor Air Pollution”

Do you have pets?

Do you smoke in your home?

Does anyone in your house suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory problems?

Do you regularly clean excessive dust accumulations from your furniture?

Do you experience headaches, nausea, burning sensations in your nose, throat or eyes while in your home?

Have you recently done some remolding in your home?

Is your home a new construction or a foreclosure?

Dirt, dust, mold, pollen, and animal dander are recirculated through our air ducts every time we turn on our heat or air conditioner. Combine this with moisture and you have the ideal breeding ground for fungi, germs and household mold. Studies have confirmed that some diseases, including salmonella, strep and legionaries’ disease are spread by contaminated air ducts.

Anti-microbial Treatments

Anti-microbial treatments for your HVAC system

Breathe Fresh, LLC offers three anti-microbial treatments for your HVAC system, EnviroCON, OXINE, and Sporicidin. EnviroCON and OXINE are manufactured by Bio-Cide International Inc. and Sporocidin is manufactured by Contec, Inc. All are EPA registered products. Many states have licensing requirements that must be met by air duct cleaning companies in order to legally apply anti-microbial treatments. We are in compliance with these requirements, but there are many other providers who are not. Before you engage a company to apply an anti-microbial treatment to your HVAC system, it might be a good idea to make sure they are properly licensed.

Ducting System Facts

Air ducts serve as the respiratory system of your home.  Over time dust, dirt, insects, pet hair, dander, pollen, construction debris, and more can build up in your duct system. These contaminants can:

  • Affect your indoor air quality.
  • Increase the amount of dust in your home.
  • Cause your heating and cooling systems to lose efficiency.

In new homes, it is common to find drywall dust, sawdust, wood pieces, and fast-food wrappers left behind in the construction process. In older homes we often find these same items along with remnants of everything and everyone who has lived in that home since it was built, think about not dusting one room in your house ever, the dust accumulation in your air ducts can be unbelievable!

Buyer Beware

Don’t get scammed or mislead by companies that claim to clean your whole system for a low price or per vent, air duct cleaning should take at least a half a day to a full day in most homes if done correctly. Most companies say they will offer whole-house cleaning package for a very low coupon price or have a higher base price but charge you per vent after a certain amount then they show up to do the work and upcharge the bid in some cases as much as 10-30 times the coupon price, then they are in and out in less than 1 hour leaving 30 – 40 % of the Harmful Contaminants in your system. Leaving you scratching your head wondering what you really paid for!
